We’re always excited whenever we expect to have a new Mazda vehicle for sale at our Harford, CT Mazda dealership. We were thrilled when the new 2016 Mazda CX-5 arrived at our dealership, for instance, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming the 2016 Mazda CX-9.

When designing the new 2016 Mazda CX-9, the Mazda brand considered how people actually use their three-row SUVs. When the automaker learned that drivers generally don’t push their tachometers beyond 3,000 rpm often, the Mazda brand focused on torque production instead of horsepower when it came to the engine that was going to be in the 2016 Mazda CX-9. The car manufacturer decided that a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 310 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm was the right fit for its family-friendly SUV.

The 2016 Mazda CX-9 comes in four trims, the Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and the Signature. The SUV has a six-speed automatic transmission and it can have either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

This year’s Mazda CX-9 provides a quieter ride than previous models for several reasons. First, the Mazda brand put 53 pounds of sound-deafening materials in the floor of the SUV. The car maker also used acoustic-laminated glass for the front side windows.

The 2016 Mazda CX-9 has many of the latest technology features and it even has an available projector-like heads-up display. The vehicle also has the automaker’s Mazda Connect infotainment system and the Mazda brand’s i-Activsense is available as an option. If your vehicle has i-Activsense, your SUV will have blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, a collision mitigation system with brake assist, and a lane-departure warning.
